Snowbasin's freshies were calling to us all today as the traffic rush began up the mountain. On a day I'd call epic, the snow was unbelievable. Three feet of fresh powder in some areas on the mountain, all prepared on a solid base by mother nature herself. Derrick Shweppe and myself began the day by breaking in the snow for a warm up fun-run, which is always a blast. Ready to rock and roll, we headed straight to strawberry to catch the 11 o'clock freshies on the ridge, then straight up the Strawberry Gondola. The hike to middle bowl cirque was one of the better ones I've had, especially when I saw the untracked pow on the other side. Shweppe and I quickly soaked it up and headed back up to Lone Tree for more. After that, I was done hiking, but with two wildcat kickers, some unforgettabe cat-track fiesta's, and five more Fun-runs later, we'd managed to throw in the towel. After all... it was just another day at the Basin.
