The sixth grade at Valley Elementary School held a science fair January 4, 2008. Every student entered.
There were lots of judges. Mr. Dick Andrew, Vice President
of Marketing at Lagoon, and Mr. Trent Brown, Marketing Manager for Lagoon came
and reviewed each presentation. Dick Andrew has been coming to visit our sixth grade for over 15 years! These nice men brought twelve free passes to Lagoon to give away as prizes for the twelve
projects that are going on to district! They also told us about how science, especially physics, plays a big part in rides at Lagoon. We got to hear aboutthe newest ride at Lagoon, The Odessey. No one, not even any other newspaper knows about Odessey yet except us and now you the reader! It will be an underwater thriller. People sit in pods 2-4 in a pod and get to control their pod as they
travel. Well, back to the fair!
As you may know, Snowcrest Jr. High and Valley Elementary annually participate in a science fair. There are some unique projects that will probably catch the judge's eyes. For my project,I am comparing the intelligence of girls and boys. Angelena Horan says "I'm excited and I hope that my project is a winner." Angelena is comparing the growth of plants that are exposed to different music. Kellie Whetton said, "I think that it will be exciting and fun." Kellie is comparing the lighting inphotography from different angles.
Twelve science fair winners are going to the district fair at The Weber County Fairgrounds on Feb. 4th. They will know if they won regional by the next week!
