Sunday was another great day at Snowbasin. Compared to yesterday, the visibility was greatly improved and the groomers were able to make more runs available for everyone. It was also the second day that the Strawbery Gondola was operating, making more of the mountain open and taking pressure of the base of the mountain.
Joel Estrada and I met up with our friend Tim who just flew in from Hawaii. We started our day with a quick and hearty breakfast at The Oaks in Ogden Canyon. We were lucky enough to bump into Keith Rounkles, the proprieter who told us a little about The Oaks history and the fact that they're actually celebrating the 100th aniversary of The Oaks this year.
Once we got on the mountain it was business as usual. We got our gear on, hopped on the parking lot shuttle and in minutes we were up the gondie and doing a warm-up run on Sweet Revenge. Compared to yesterday's poor visability, tricky conditions and Saturday crowd, today was a great and welcome improvement. Especially for Tim who was just getting out for the first time this season. We feel sorry for you Tim. Sitting on the beach with your board, just waiting for the snow to fall.

Today was also the second day out on my new Niedecker Legend 174. Once again I was blown away at the level of responsiveness, predictability and control offered by this state of the art Snowboard. Joel and I used our super slewthing powers to find a few safe glades of untracked powder off Strawberry where once again the Legend put the hammer down and cut through the variable conditions ranginging from minor crust on powder to hardpack to that nasty slick stuff under the snow maker guns. We also bumped into Courtney and Arron from Niedecker and took a few runs with them where I let them know just how impressed I was with my new board. Thanks again!!
Looks like we've got more snow on the way so stay tuned and let us know if you've got anything to add to our ongoing coverage of Ogden Valley's 2007-2008 Winter Season at the Mountain.
