Local entrepreneur and ardent patron of the arts, Jeff Hyde, will showcase local songwriters in an intimate concert setting at Trappers Village in Huntsville Square.  The 7:00 pm December 29 event is hoped to be the first of many such gatherings of talent.

Featured will be Tim Daniels, McCall Erickson, Danielle Vaughn and d. Scott Williams (from Shades of Grey).  The musical styles will range from blissful folk, to moody alternative country and there should be something for everyone.  Be assured the music you will hear comes straight from the heart, soul, and life experience without music industry filtering.

The evening is presented by Jeff and Bonnie Hyde and Trappers Village. Light  Hors d'oeuvres will be provided.  A $5.00 entrance donation to the artists is suggested.  Seating is limited but reservations will be accepted.  Contact Dan Williams (710-8359) or Danielle Vaughn (390-7618).

Tim Daniels

tim_daniels_33fb708.jpg Tim was born into a musical family,  his grandfather was a singer song writer and his mom still has music night every Thursday in New Mexico.  Cowboys from the area gather, listen and play.  Tim was on stage at the age of 8 years playing in his grandfathers band, he wrote his first song when he was 12 years old. Tim has many passions and draws from a diverse life experience to create a unique style.  Tim is currently recording a CD and playing locally at Harley and Bucks and Wolf Creek Resort.

McCall Erickson

mcall_erickson_bw.jpg McCall Erickson is a Wyoming native, nursed on the wide-open sky and Big Horn mountains, she found a second home in the Wasatch Front while attending Weber State. Among her arsenal of musical instruments she includes the violin and piano, but is most often seen strumming her guitar in the twilight hours above a sea of adoring fans, or teaching in her downtown studio. Altogether an entertainer, her performing tactic is to engage the audience, often roping them into question and answer sessions and sing-a-longs. A lover of collage in the visual arts, McCall’s musical stylings are a blended homage to her great influences—Mary Chapin Carpenter, EmmyLou Harris, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and other folk greats--infused with her views on life as one big poetic journey.

D Scott Williams

dscottwilliams_dsc_0099-200w.jpgFrom salt-tinged surf-beat to the plaintive country fried strains of Hank and Patsy, to melancholic Coltrane, this surf rat turned plainsman brings another long buffet of influences to the sonic feast. The seventies and eighties were a time of blending these influences with folk and bluegrass to form something of a “style”. “So many cool instruments and sounds and so little time” is a quote worth note from this shade of grey. Guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass are“frequent criers” in the hands of this jack of all strings. His songwriting usually comes from places in the heart and soul that most of us don’t visit often.
