There's always something a little scary or intimidating about that first run of the season.

It used to start with just getting off the lift the first time, but
since Snowbasin is served top to bottom by some awesome gondolas, I
didn't really have to worry about that. There's also something
comforting and familiar about being at the 'Basin that helps to take
those first run jitters away. Perhaps it's all the familiar faces,
incredibly helpful staff and amazing amenities or perhaps its something
that goes deeper to something that touches all of us who love being
there any moment that we can afford to.

Last week I talked to Mary Rowland, Snowbasin's Marketing Manager,
about what that something is. She called it the "Spirit of Snowbasin"
and we decided to put that idea out there and see what other people
thought about why they love Snowbasin. Sure we could list the fact
that Snowbasin has incredible lifts, awesome snow, the best locals,
great food, incredible terrain, friendly hosts, expert teachers, patrol
that cares, greeters everywhere, marble instead of fiberglass, leather
instead of vinyl... or maybe it's just that the mountain is so vast,
challenging, and wide open. Or maybe it's just the meatloaf in the
John Paul Lodge. I'm still trying to put my finger on it, but perhaps
you'd like to join me and let Mary, Denzel and the rest of us know what
you think about the "Spirit of Snowbasin". Tell us your favorite
story, your first visit, your favorite run or how you experience that
something special one day. You can even send us a picture if you have
one. If you have something to share just hit the comment link below
and type away.
I'll be keeping you up to date with mountain conditions, photos and
more video, so stay tuned for an exciting winter season at Snowbasin
Resort.
