08 Celebration a success

2008 ovp CELEBRATION AT Snowbasin A huge SUCCESS!

Over 250 people joined us to celebrate Ogden Valley pathways and trails at Snowbasin on September 20. We made some really good money, made a lot of new friends and, importantly, continued OVP as a community building organization

  • We awarded an Extra Mile Award to Biker's Edge. Several people from the shop were there to accept it and recieved a rousing round of well-deserved applause.
  • Thanks to the many sponsors, donors and bidders who made the auction and raffle both fun and successful. The auction and raffle raised almost $15,000.
  • Thanks to County Commissioner Craig Dearden, State Representative Gage Froerer, and r.a.m.p. Committee Chairman Candadai Seshachari who attended, enjoyed themselves and expressed their support in remarkably short speeches.
  • Thanks to our committee chair, Roody Rassmussen and Executive Director Christy Shaw, who made it happen. And thanks to our organizing committee champions: Gloria Froerer [Fund Raising, Jan Duffin [Activities],  Ray Corbin [Greaters & Merchandise], and Paul DeLong.
  • Thanks to our many on-mountain and plaza volunteers who handled registration, sold raffle tickets and OVP mechandise, made the auction a success, guided biking, hiking, bird watching and trail riding (horse) activities.
  • Thanks to the very helpful Snowbasin staff, especially Tim, Mikel and Denzel.
  • And thanks to our web master,  Bryan Smith who continues to give us a web presence in hopelessly little time (see www.OgdenValleyMagazine for photos and video of the event).

So a big thanks and congratulations to everyone.

Kim Wheatley, OVP chairman
